Message The flywheel is for transition between gears. The reduced rotational inertia is not significant compared to the inertia of the rest of the car, BUT when you are changing gears you have to match rpm between input shaft and the rest of the assembly. In that case, the inertia of the car is not a factor, only the inertia of the flywheel, so the input can match (change rotating speed) much faster than with the stock flywheel.

Drag racing? Don't bother with the flywheel mod. Road racing? It will probably help more, both on upshifts and downshifts.
